At the UK Business Angels Association, Green Angel Syndicate was recognised for its unusual approach to investing in important areas for our economic community. GAS has made its mark in a short space of time by concentrating on investments in energy sectors and water sectors. It already has a membership of 35 active investors, and has reached £3 million invested in 5 different investee companies.
This has been achieved in no small part due to the support and network provided by UKBAA, where Jenny Tooth has been assiduous in drawing attention to the innovative and specialist vertical offered to investee companies by GAS.
GAS was founded in Scotland in 2013 as a company limited by guarantee with two founding members, Colin Rogers and Nick Lyth. Colin?s remarkable entrepreneurial career and visionary approach prompted his interest in being Lead Investor. Nick provides the specialist combination of business experience with knowledge of European research into technology innovation at the cutting edge of energy and water. This provides the basis to achieve the purposes of GAS, and identify the right investments for the syndicate.
BlankOn the hottest night of the year, if not the decade, Nick and Colin attended the event, where they were entertained at the Tower of London dinner by INNEON, a new initiative funded by the European Commission to connect eco-innovators and investors, which is starting to make a real difference to the climate of eco-innovation in the UK. GAS continues its exploratory work across Europe to find the best new innovations.
